View Full Version : I have a dumb question regarding exhaust
I know this may be a dumb question, but I wanted to make sure that I am not making a mistake. I have a friend that is trying to sell a car that has a straight pipe for my stock system with UUC muffler on it. His car '95 3.0 my car '99 3.2 Will the flanges at the header and everything back mate up? I appreciate your help in this matter. I will post a picture later of the system as I am not sure nor is he if its a custom system or manufactured, he does think it is manufactured.
Thanks.

Cat back I'm pretty sure is the same but I don't know about where the headers bolt up.

The major difference is you have more O2's and the air pump.

as far as install goes for me is this going to be a major problem?
Thank you all for your help

You'd have to get another O2 bung welded in, do whatever is needed to get the airpump working.
I don't have one so haven't looked at how they work, or how they're connected.

Do you mean putting a 96+ on a 95 or the other way?
Yes the manifold flanges will fit. You will need to have a O2 sensor bung welded in pre cat, and get 2 O2 sensor bung plugs for the post cat holes. The 95 exhaust support by the transmission will not fit. (I haven't done anything about it yet, I need to see how a 96 is set up)
I have no idea why you would want to put a 95 section on a 96+.. Unless you really don't like the new owner.
well my buddy is trying to sell a car that is more street then mine but with a straight through exhaust with two race mufflers and nothing else. I was going to get a system made similar to that and was trying to save some headaches, but I am starting to think I should just get a system made. because this may be a huge headache in it self.
