Hey guys my MAF boot, the next hose after the air intake hose, has many cracks in it and sometimes my car wont start for a while, it also stalls when i give it power in the mornings after a stop, im pretty sure that this is the cause of my problems, but i was wondering if it could be something more serious
thanks

the cracked area is the ICV hose which would lead to your problems. if you stay on the gas a little bit it should not die. let me know if you need any parts, i took out my whole intake area.

So its not the MAF boot? Can you please post pics of this ICV hose, i know i need to replace a few hoses, but i want to get the major issue causing ones first, i know that the MAF 1 needs to be replaced as well since it has about 5+ holes in it.
thnaks

The elbow coming off the throttle body? it has a thick hose connecting to it on the bottom. If you have holes or cracks in this elbow or hose, your car will idle badly, or not at all.

alright, i replaced the boot, still didnt fix it, im gonna try the ICV next, my mom said she heard a buzzing from the little metal piece sticking into the side of the boot, but now i found a small fuel leak, and i am getting the "oil press sensor" light.... im in love with this car, but ive only driven it like 5 days i really would like to find out whats wrong with it :mad
would the ICV cause the engine to not start? i have to wait like 10 min before i can restart the car after i turn it off

i can also hear like a whistling of some sort, like an air leak, but i have no idea where it is coming from

Welcome to the wonderful world of the M60. You will soon learn that this engine is like a really hot model girlfriend --- "really high maintenance", but when she is in perfect running condition you can't bring yourself to part with her. Most fun car I've ever had. Most problematic at well. Most of your problems will have something to do with intake, "vacuum leak" issues, the PCV (plate on rear of intake) is often the culprit, throttle body gasket and intake manifold gaskets, ICV, hoses, O2 sensors, or the mass air flow meter. I've had to completely rebuild mine twice. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Spray Brake or carb cleaner all over the intake to check for the air leak, You'll know the leak when you hit it cause the idle will change.
What year is your car?

Oh, I'm pretty sure my car has an M30, its a 1990 535i, but apparently, it's the AFM boot not MAF, I replaced it and my problem isn't solved, I'm going to the ICV now.
