Lovin these new Akebono Euro Ceramic pads. good bite, extremely rotor friendly and strong pedal feel, relatively cheap too. got them off ebay seller FCP Groton INC.

heres some comparison pics. car was washed 3 days ago, fronts are akebono euro and rears are Axxis ULT Ceramic.

Show some real performance data, stopping distance, cold bite, etc and they peeps will get interested. At least thats what I need to see....it's the engineer in me. :D

I just placed an order for a full set of the Hawk Performance Ceramic front and rear. I was considering the Akebono Euro, too but then Bimmerzone sells the Performance Ceramic's only $10 more shipped than the cheapest Akebono Euro's I found. I'm tired of my wheels turning darker and darker every single day...

I'd rather clean my wheels every hour than deal with pads that are rock hard and provide worse performance.

i think that if low dusting is your number one priority, than the variables you mentioned are probably pretty far down the line.
that being said, the Carbotech XP8s that i just put on my track car actually dust very, very little and are very quiet(not that i care),even though they're a good bit more agressive than my old pad,and are considered "track only" pads by the company.IMO,they'd be the perfect street pad.

I just put on some Axxis Ultimates front and rear last month and regret it greatly... I wish I wouldve dished out the cash for the Hawks.

the previous owner put Ultimates all the way around on my M3.it's pretty much pointless to even wash the wheels.

+1

I love my OEM pads for the street. They dust A LOT, but damn it if any other pad can stop like these do, even when there completely cold.

my face hurts after some hard stops.

anyone have a link to some real life test data that shows that these types of "dustless" pads provide less performance? i was considering getting some but would not want to lose performance over stock

I have Hawk HPS pads on my car at the moment, and yes, they put out very little dust and they are an OK pad, but they do not have anywhere near the initial bite of the PBR ceramics I had on before these.

I would probably try the Hawk ceramics for street pads next time & HT+ or HT10 for the track.

I suggest that if you are using your car on the street, get the pads that work the best, and clean your wheels more often if you have to.

To me, the way the car performs and feels is way more important than a little dust on the wheels.

Besides, if there is a little dust on the wheels, I would still clean them after a drive anyway, so a little more is no big deal for better grip.

My 2 cents.

I don't get why some of you guys talk like, if you don't put OEM pads on, your car's not going to stop and you will die. That's why you look for decent replacement pads though no aftermarket pads perform that bad. They may not have the feel as good as OEM pads but that's how it'd be everytime pads are replaced. Just gotta get used to the new feel and you'll know how to maneuver with them new brake pads thus you'll be fine. I like and try to keep my car looking clean all the time so I'd rather look for aftermarket street pads than to have to clean my wheels every single day.

+1 Hawk Ceramics

They are fantastic pads. Stop great, make NO noise, and dust very very little.

Initial cold bite is excellent, warmed up they are great as well, etc.

Edit: BTW I did put them through a serious bed in process. It did leave a good amount of material on the rotor (in the slots) but quickly went away. You won't regret them.
