i have a set of Stoptechs and am running 18" OZ ultraleggeras. PLENTY of clearance. i'm not sure what caliper wouldn't fit under them actually?

Running a 10mm spacer in front but thats due to the GC Street/Track Kit im running... These brakes would clear with no issues if i didnt have to run spacers... I can try to take a couple pics tonight...

Thanks man.. I'm running coilovers too so I don't think I can avoid spacers.. but 18mm is abit too much for my liking.. I'm running 80mm studs in front and with an 18mm spacer there's barely any thread left
Always loved the LTW5... lightweight, strong, easy to clean and high BBK visibility, they really should be more popular than they are... too bad there's no local reseller I'll have to ship from stateside
To the OP...other BBK-friendly rims: BBS CH, VR TE37, SSR GT2.. I have a spare set of Racing Dynamics RGS that'll clear the Brembo's with a 10mm spacer but it's a boat anchor at ~28lbs each

Factory LTWs if you like factory wheels.
I have the Mov'It BBK (front and rear) for my E36 M3 sedan. I have a 10mm spacer on the front but I could get away with an 8mm spacer. I specifically wanted a kit that fit under 17" wheels.

Can you give me the details of your rear setup... I am basically running the same kit with the exception of the 993tt calipers being stripped and ceramic coated...

Craig:
The Mov'It rear brakes are also Porsche based - Boxster S calipers and rotors. Mov'it has the Boxster S rear rotors modified with a different hat pattern. Also the mounting bracket of their design positions the caliper properly. I am not sure if you can buy the parts separately. AFAIK, the rear brake kit could only be purchased along with their front kit.
Oh, I'd like to get a set of D-Force LTW5s as well, in Anthracite. Nice choice in wheels - cost effective, strong, light, and great looking!

kinda OT but ... why do u guys all chose to get spacers instead of getting a higher offset wheel? i can understand 10mm to clear coilovers. but is it because u like the wheels and dont want to get rid of them so u run a bigger spacer? or is that the only way to fit more rubber under the fenders without raping them?
im curious because i am looking for a new set of wheels for my bbk.

I run the Movit kit front and rear, I run 17x9f, 17x9.5r CCWs no spacer needed. Fits perfectly over the brakes and clears everything else. John from CCW work wonders.

Why would you not use it if you can. There are no real downsides to it. It is a lot easier to run a 10mm spacer than to find a whole new wheel that has a 10mm lower offset. Plus, wheels are built to fit the cars stock, not cars with BBKs. Obviously, that statement should be taken with a grain of salt, since some wheels do have a slightly more aggressive offset, but it usually isn't very much (maybe 5mm off of the original offsets).
A manufacturer isn't going to develop a ET30 wheel, when 99% of the cars out there need to be running an ET40 wheel. Just look at all of the people who are trying to run incorrect offset wheels, and having to compensate that by rolling fenders and/or running narrow tires, etc.

+1....$150 on spacers and longer studs or $2k on new wheels.....

My 17" Koseis clear my Mov-it front kit without the need for a spacer. I also have a set of 17" iForged Aero RSs that I took off the car that clear as well without a spacer (I believe the previous owner ordered them with a custom offset to clear the BBK).

i see your point. i just never liked using spacer, let alone a big one. thats why i was wondering. i see so many cars with wheels that are 2k+ and they still run a spacer. i figure if u pay so much for wheels u might just get wheels with offset that will clear ur bbk. or sell the one u currently have and get new wheels that clears ur bbk.
anyways....so does anyone have any problems fitting rubber with such a big spacer? since a et45 wheel with a 20mm spacer would make it et25 right? and with a 8.5+ width wheel how wide of a tire do/can u run?

As long as it is a brand name spacer, I see no problem in running them at all. I've run up to 20-25mm spacers, and they work just fine. I know of a guy on here who has a MA Shaw PTG widebody who runs 3" spacers on his race car. If he's racing on it, that just proves that they can work. Sure wears out the bearings a lot faster with those sizes though.
You narrow your choices down a lot, when you are trying to find a wheel with a specific offset, instead of just adding a spacer. You basically will always narrow down the tire sizes you also have available, whether you use a lower offset wheel or run a spacer.
For the fronts, you should be fine. I rolled my front fenders a bit, and I run a 20mm spacer with an ET32 wheel. Although the tires are 215, you can probably end up running something more like a 235 on there, since your final offset will be higher than mine.
