Steering whine after hard cornering?

My steering seems to develop a rather loud whine and also a feeling sort of a combination between grinding and vibrating when I drive my car pretty spirited around corners, but it goes away if I turn the car off, then start it up again.

Is it low on power steering fluid? Power steering pump going? Thanks

Low on fluid most likely. The clamps are known to go and it will slowly seep out. I take the "most likely" back, get some fluid ;)

edit: BTW in case you didnt know, they take ATF, not PS fluid
