yup...there's a e90/e91 (latest 4dr 3ser) in the neighborhood i work in that i've always noticed go by because it seems to be a slightly brighter version of Laguna Seca Blue.....i didnt think anything of it until i got behind it one day and noticed it was badged as a 353i.....i thought i was crazy until my coworker noticed it too....
i tried to look it up, but all i found were sites about 5series where they made a mistake and meant 535i.....

anyone know anything about this??....that neighborhood it pretty well know for rare cars (i.e. '03 RS6, panteras, phantoms, maseratis, etc...), so i doubt its a case of a confused identity....

I'm pretty sure he just flipped the "3" and the "5" on the badge. There's no such thing as a 353.

^^ I think so too, I saw a 3 series (e46) the other day that had M badge attached to the 3... it looked something like 3M\\\

initially, i also thought there was some foul play with the badging, but the driver appears to be in his late 40s/ early 50s, and the car is immaculate, the one time i was behind it, the numbers were perfectly in place....ive also never seen any other new 3er in this color, which does look factory, and that leads me to thinking that it truely is something special.....i'll try to get a pic of it...but its hard to do since it drives by the shop while im working, so he's long gone by the time i stop working, unlock my phone, and get the camera going......but i'll make it a mission........i'll defenitly keep u guys posted.

It probably is one hardcore bimmer enthusiast as 353 is the color code for the original Light-Blue Glasurit color. Looks like that may be the color of his car but on a newer model and had a custom badge put on. That would be my guess.
