I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem. I resently purchased a 93 325i. But the engine was swapped out with a 95 E34 M50.
I keep getting an idle bounce 500rpm to 2000rmp.When the rpms go down i hear a sucking sound around intake manifold. I replaced the ICV, Mass flow sensor and O2 sensor and problem hasnt gone away. Also i notice the DME was changed.
It has a silver lable 413 DME with a bevautosport performance chip inside.I looked up the vin# for the DME it says it for an automatic, But my engine is manual. Can that be causing my problem? Another thing i wanted to mention when i shut the car off (Turn the key to off position) It dosnt shut off right away. It takes a like 10sec to shut off.:(

Sounds like a ecu problem with the shut off thing. Could be with the idle too. I would defiantly find a chip that matches your car. Does the new motor have vanos in it.

Yes its vanos.

If you have your stock dme, try that out. It doesnt matter the tranny when it comes to engine management, thats why auto-transmission equipped chassis' have an ECM for the transmission.

Bav Auto Chip for 413 (BAV.M50.300\1998) Thats whats in the DME.
Bavauto website says for 325i Thru 12/1994 Production mine is a 95.
Can the chip be the issue here?

Even though your "year" is a 1995, it could be produced in 1994. They don't start making the model year on Jan 1st, since they want to release the model already by that point. They start earlier. Mine's a MY 1997 but the build date was in 5/96.
