Ok, so my sideskirts are rusted on he drivers side in the very front. The part where there is a seem between the door. Basically it has been repainted black to hide this and i could prety miuch put my finger through it if i wanted to(trust nme i dont).
My question is that since i plan on swapping on m3 sideskirts and possibly a bumper, what do i do about the rust. I dont beleive that the factory skirts come off and i dont jjust want to cover it up so that the ruust can spread.
Anyone that has any input or suggestions i would really apreciate it.

You will need to take off the front quarter panel and see how far it has spread and how deep it is into the metal. You are probably best off having a professional sand it down for removal then re prime the panel and respray. Sorry, rust is cancer for your car. Its gonna take surgery to remove it.

search my name and you will find out what's involved in replacing the rockers. They help to stiffen the structure so I wouldn't suggest ignoring the problem by covering it up with the plastic sideskirts.

I know this is the passenger side, but jsut pretend. There is a split in the rocker panel at the door seem. The front part that is on the fender is my rusting area. Ill post actual pics later. That particular are is not structuraly important is it? It jsut doesnt seem like it would be.

Naw, if I'm understanding you correctly that's just part of the fender and not a welded-on structural member of the vehicle. I'd still get in and kill the rust correctly though -- I've not seen exactly how the skirt attaches but I know it attaches with at least two grommets through that lower fender area.

Not to jack the thread but, how much would it typically cost to have rust removed from the car and reprimed/resprayed? I have a decent sized spot on the front bottom corner of the passenger door.
