window roll up and double lock no worky

OK im not sure if the e36 even came with the feature, but my e34 did. when you turn the key to the lock possition and hold it the windows and sunroof should roll up right. also the doors should double lock. Im sure the car has the double lock but its not working either.

I believe that was an OBDII feature for E36's.. but I think on mine if you hold the key turned in the lock, the windows will go up. No double locking with the key, though.

Whoa! I'm going to test this right now. I have a similar question though. When I use the trunk lock or passenger lock, my driver's side door won't lock :( How expensive is the part to replace it?

**UPDATE: It doesn't work from the trunk, but does for the driver's side door (didn't check passenger). It doesn't close the sunroof though. Wish my driver's side window regulator wasn't funked up so it would close normally.

Sunroof closing is an OBDII function, i believe. In my car, it works from the driver's or passenger's side door.

Yea, i've got a 96 and all the windows and the sunroof will close, in that order, when the key i s held in the lock position

i have a 92 525i and a 92 325i :buttrock . the double lock and window roll up are a feature on the 5er i wonder why not on the 3 :confused . My 5 is a mess of busted head and cracked block. i wonder if there is the possibility of a retrofit :devillook what do you think

Would be a pretty straight forward swap if you wanted to put the 3 engine in the 5.

I was thinking the double lock and window roll up features. swapping them from the 5 to the 3. the 3 is far too much fun to drive to chop it up. and the 5 has soooooo many other problems :rolleyes

I'm sure you could, just find out which modules are responsible.

So the window roll up feature doesn't work on my 96 328... Anyone know what module is responsible for it? I'm guessing that a bad door lock could cause it too, right?

And what is "double lock"?
