Alarm Light??

Tnis is probably a stupid question, but does the alarm light go out after sitting for a prolonged period of time? I am wondering because I just went out to grab a beer from the fridge in my garage and the light was out...Note that I have not driven it since Wednesday night...I just thought it was a little odd and wanted to know if anyone else has ever noticed this.

Im pretty sure it is suppose to stay flashing as long as the batt is charged

Well it will shut off after a while. BMW made it so it would stop flashing so it wouldnt drain the battery. This would take a long time Id imagine seeing as though the alarm light it an LED and its hooked up to the battery. Who klnows tho, two days may have been enough to stop it. Try driving it around for a bit and then see if it turns back on after you lock it up again. Chances are it will.

If it is OEM BMW alarm it will turn off after 36 hrs (I believe), this is also mentioned in the alarm manual.
So always after arming it will blink for that long before turning off, normal thing for BMW.

Thanks everyone, I figured if it was supposed to go off it was to prevent drainage of the battery, but I can't see the battery being drained off of that little light, but who knows.
