I have a 2005 MCS that am thinking about listing on Cars.com, just wondering what you guys think I should expect to get for it in the current market. I see some Coopers listed for around $20,000 then some listed with the same options for way less. It has 51,000 and is in near perfect condition, chili red and a 6 speed manual. It doesn't have cruise or a sunroof or leather or navigation. This isn't a sale ad for you guys, just wondering what a reasonable price to expect would be?

I recently purchased my 05 mcs w/51k miles, no sunroof, no nav, but leather, cruise, LSD, chrono pkg for $14,500, guy was asking 15,900 (needed tires). At the time, there were 2 other 05 MCS for sale within easy drive, all similar mileage, one for 19,500 (car was loaded) and the other $16,500. I made them all the same offer, and one of them took it.

I would think the market might be pretty good right now for a fun car that gets good MPG for under $20k. I would take KBB and Edmunds prices and average them out, see what you come up with (I find Edmunds more accurate, but Kelly more optimistic). Also, put notice up on your local MINI club site (bamamini.com (http://www.bamamini.com/)), local MINI forum (http://magicmini.com/AMF/)and NAM as well.

FYI I have been trying to sell my 2005 MCS, manual, cold weather package, 26K miles since December. Priced it starting out at $19K, it is now at $16K and best offer so far has been $14.5K from a local ebay dealer. Very good condition w/ original runflats starting to get noisy. in joisey.

I would have expected to get more then that out of it, there must not be a high demand right now or something. $14.5K would blow, I owe $14.7K on the thing.

Hopefully there will soon be a lot of rich daddies looking for graduation presents for their precious darlings. If there are any rich daddies left in this economy.;)

Buddy of mine just sold his '04 S on the local MINI forum. It had lots and lots of mods, and he was asking 19,700, which I thought was a dream. I don't know what he took, but if I were you, I'd go ahead and put it on the bama MINI site.

Mine is pending sale, to someone in town who drove by it on the way to work every day for a few months. Settled on $15.5K. See my ad here for description (search under posts I've authored). Lots of inquiries recently via the cars.com website, one guy wanted to drive up from Maryland this weekend if it hadn't sold. Autotrader ad didn't get any responses in 3 months, so I didn't renew it. Cars.com will run it until it sells, renewal is free.

I had 26,600 miles. Sorry about the sale, just picked up the check and turned over the title. In the last week while the sale was pending I had 6 phone inquiries and 3 email inquiries. Guess I should have held out a little longer, but it had been on the market since December without a whole lot of interest. Good luck in your search, its a great car. Grin a minute.
