hey i have a 97 328is coupe and i have H&R race springs in the front with 18x8.5"'s and it looks sicks perfect fit IMO. i haven't installed the rear springs because i'm skeptical about them fitting w/o rolling the fenders or anything. I think my wheels have a 38 offset and i have 225/40/18's on. the reason i don't think i can put them on without rubbing is because i bought them from my friend and we tried putting them on his 92 325 one day and he had 18's with 255/40/18's and on and we test drove it real quick and it rubbed on every little bump, even when we would just go around a turn the momentum of the car leaning a little was enough for it to rub a little. anyway I was wondering if anyone has this set up and if it works without rubbing. what are my options here if this won't work? get thicker spring perch pads? get my fenders rolled? just trade my springs for some H and R sports or something? any input is appreciated.

Big difference between 255/40 and 225/40. How much room in there at the lip, a finger width?

I think they will work fine. It only takes about 30 min to install rear springs. Why not try them out.

yea i thought about just trying it and seeing that's what we did with my friends and after a quick drive swapped them back. i just haven't had the time recently and i figured it might be a good idea to check on here first to see if anyone had the same setup.
