Not great from what i hear. friend took his corolla to TF, got crappy advice and upsales pressure, found he got a better deal at his toyota dealer. Tirerack has a great reputation, have always done well by me.

+1, when I lived in NH there was a town-fair tire near me, took a set of wheels there to have tires mounted and they put way too much air in them and I waited forever to have the done. Tirerack is certainly a great place to order from!

I like the one near Dedham / West Roxbury on Rt. 1. I had good luck with them. If that is the one you are looking at ask for 'Ed'. They will match any Tire Rack price I'm told.

Another vote against Town Fair Tire. They balanced my wheels when they did an alignment for me last summer. When I put on the winter rims/tires, I discovered that 2 of the hub-centric rings were not re-installed with the wheels, and one of the wheels had only 3 out of the 5 bolts replaced! They must have lost 4 bolts when they removed the wheel and replaced them with only 2 -- and these didn't even match the rest of them (but were at least the correct size)

I'm not going there again. Much better luck with Tire Warehouse also around in NE states.

I live in New Hampshire, and thought about getting tires/mounted at TFT. I ended up going with Tire Warehouse and I've been back a few times for mounting and new tires. They are New England based and do good work for a good price.

Thanks for this thread - it's my first time buying tires in the Boston area. Looks like I'll be going with everyone's advice here and buying online from Tirerack + getting them mounted/balanced at Tire Warehouse. Do I need to do anything special for my car since it has a tire pressure monitoring system?

Are they also pretty reputable for alignments, or should I stick with an indep. BMW shop?

Tire warehouse will balance the wheels and they're ride fine but for a nice proper alignment take it to a BMW shop or even another reputable wheel shop with a nice alignment setup

Stay away from TFT. You get what you pay for or in TFT's case what you don't pay for. For the most part they have most young, inexperienced workers that can make BIG mistakes. Then its up to the overworked managers to catch the mistakes before the car is returned to the customer. Take your car to a reputable tire shop.

Town Fair does decent work but they wont touch anything that you don't buy there. Ive bought tons of tires from tire rack and they have always been quick and done everything right. I do have a horror story about Sullivan Tire so never go there to get some tires put on nice rims. I had them put some Michelin tires on my M Contours II and then took some huge chunks out of every wheel so they needed to refinish all my wheels. Huge headache. Never go there. They are a bunch of hacks.

The only reason to go to TFT is to get them to price match some really low price you find on the internet. I got my re750s for $99/tire when tirerack charges $140/tire on closeout. Tire rack has much better service though, I didn't even bring my car to TFT, just the wheels.
