View Full Version : Feeler FS thread - '91 318is with >80,000 miles - Close to MINT .....

Thats right, this could be one of the last E30's with less than 100,000 miles - of course I am not sure, but most cars that are this age will NOT have low mileage like this.

Anyway, I bet you want some pics:

EDIT - I had to take out all the pics - so if you want to see what I have - shoot me a PM or email and I will send you a link as soon as I can.

Of course I have to take more pics - but at least you have an idea - it is Diamond Schwarz in color, and has 2 sets of wheels:

It also has a Mark "D" chip, generic strut bar (easily removed), brembo rotors and Hawk pads, 6 puc clutch with a brand new flywheel, Original "IS" lip, exhaust note has been enhanced by a muffler but not the entire exhaust system, Short shift kit and some minor cosmetic enhancements like the carbon fiber dash:

Also, it does not have the 4 spoke steering wheel - I went with the MTech1 wheel but it can always be changed back in about 5 minutes.

There are a few chips, but that would be normal with any car.
Although there is one that is not that normal, and its right on the hood and it is visible, I was going to just lay a vinyl graphic over it (the flag) but have not done that as of yet.

I can get more pics but I do WORK a TON of hours, so communication will be tough.

Some people think that I might have overpaid (I paid a little over $6000) but I challenge you to find another example like this - I can not stress enough how CLEAN this car is overall.

Feel free to lowball and have me ignore you - lol

I would love to sell this car ASAP - but I am not willing to take a big loss.

Again, this is just a feeler to see what it might bring, although I would sell this car right now for the right price.

No bashing, no smart comments, lets keep this thread on track - please.

Thanks a ton for all your help - this site ROCKS!

P.S. there might be other mods too, but none that I can think of right now.

Anyone?

I would love to see how many E30's (Any YEAR) that you can find that have less than 100k miles, that have NEVER been in any accident and have very minimal mods, almost stock - almost new in a sense. No cracks in the dash - literally clean as it came off the showroom floor, just with 70-80,000 more miles, but very well taken care of - lets see what you (or anyone) come up with ........ I will wait and be patient to see what you got.

You can email me - Adam (at) straightfocus (dot) com

Or feel free to post comments here ....

Thanks!

Adam :)

It is that clean, and I WOULD post pics, if I was allowed to, but I am sorry to say that this site does not allow me to post pics until I have proven myself with lots of post's, which I do not have yet.

Feel free to shoot me an email - and I can reply with a couple links to pics :)

As you can clearly see in the title this is just a feeler thread.

I seriously dont know if I want to let it go yet, but if I got the "cash" that I would want, I would seriously consider it.

The problem is this:

It seems as though not many people see the value of having one of the last E30's that has NEVER been in an accident and has the carfax to prove it too - not to mention the REALLY REALLY low miles (right now its less than 76000, but that might change if I drive it - lol)

The price that I paid about 8 months ago was $6200 (I do not think I overpaid, and I would challenge you to find ANY E30 in this condition - no rust, no accidents, original everything - go ahead!) so I would probably want at least that, maybe a little more too?

Good luck to you if you try to offer less, I have a wife and 3 kids and none of them would accept loosing money on this car, its just too nice - lol (thats right - I am not as young as I act most of the time)

Also, thanks to M3eater for posting pics of my car - there are more, but that should wet just about anyone's appetite - lol

not feeling the gauge cluster and you seem to be running a tad hot. Other than that, reallly clean car. I'm not sure that you'll get 6g but I'm sure you'll get close.

TheWarden

Good points!

The cluster I can easily remove and put back to stock, or just take out the CF and leave the silver rings, either way, easy fix, about an hour of my time and worth it to make the potential buyer happy.
Running hot, not sure why that was, but when the clutch and flywheel were replaced, for some reason it never did that again, I drove it today and sat at idle for a while, and that never happened again.
I know that the clutch and flywheel have nothing to do with the coolant system - I have been working on cars for about 25 years now - but it still happened that way, no matter what that is my final answer!
Weird? Yes.
True? Yes.

Maybe I will still ask over $6k and expect the potential buyer to know what I know.

Dude, no offense but you're coming across as just a little bit abrasive... not the best way to make a sale here. The car is nice though, best of luck.

You're welcome. If your car was a 4-door, I'd be interested myself. GL with the sale - and don't worry if people on Bimmerforums don't get it. This forum is HEAVILY E36-centric, and most of them have never owned an E30 before so they don't know what they are missing. I've had both, and the E30 is better than the E36 in every way but drivetrain (hence the popularity of swaps)!

Never intended to be "abrasive" - just attempting to convey my point.

I dont know, I might end up selling it after all - my price would be $6500 and it would come with everything, and if you want to sell the wheels and the steering wheel, chip - whatever, you could probably end up with this car for about $5k.

I do have to put up some more specific clearer pics to show a few things, and I would probably start a new thread, but I have been really busy with work, so as soon as I can - I will.

But officially, it is for sale.

Thanks a ton for all your help and advice and opinions :)

Sincerely, I do appreciate the time you have spent in this thread.

ok - It is for sure for sale - any takers @ $6500?

If nobody wants it, I will be doing the Ebay thing more than likely by the end of the week.

Carfax, though helpful if clean, doesn't necessarily mean a car hasn't been in an accident. It just means there's been no accidents reported to the police or insurance claims paid out on the car. You could have an accident, fix it yourself and there'd be no indication on the carfax. Or if the reporting officer got the VIN number wrong, that could cause an accident to not show up on a carfax. Basically I'm saying a clean carfax is good but not a completely reliable source for accident history. And no offense, but changing around clusters on a low mileage car isn't a great idea. The cluster could be swapped out for one with less mileage very easily. I'm certainly not saying you did this.

Good luck, the car looks great.

I agree - although carfax is not fullproof, I still think the car has never been hit, you can tell by looking (I think)

No - I did not do that - lol
All I did was add the CF trim, which can easily be removed.

Lookin good! You shouldn't have any trouble selling it!

Does the E30 have VIN tags on the body parts? E34 and E36 do. If so, taking pictures of each VIN tag would confirm that there has been no body panel replacement, and support your claim of no accidents. That would help support your price.

CARFAX is ok, but can miss a lot of issues. My E34 had a new fender, hood, and two doors on the driver's side due to an accident, CARFAX was totally clean.

Super clean E30, good luck with the sale!
