My 2004 645ci's warranty is about to expire this year and I'm thinking of getting an after-market or extended warranty. Has anyone here purchased one or can recommend any companies that are great to deal with for claims and such? Also, what's a reasonable amount to pay?

Try BMW first. 2500-4500 is about the price you would pay and note, there are two types of warranties.

As Far As I Know, All Ext Warr Sold By The Dealer Are 3rd Party Warr.

Only The Maintenance Plan Is Actually Done By Bmw Themselves.
