I remember a while ago I tried but nobody would finance a car over 100k miles. Has that changed or is it still not likely ?

My car only has 17k. You should have no problem getting financing for it.

or try getting a "personal loan" instead of an auto loan.

Capital One will finance anything. My car was a 1992 with 184K miles, LOL!

Capital One Auto Finance. Google it. They have good rates depending on your credit. You can get a lower interest rate by applying online and signing up for automatic payments. I've financed 3 cars with them. They will finance just about anything. My friend financed a '69 Camaro over 5 years with them. There are 2 hitches though. 1) They offer draft checks as payment. They work like a real check but take a few days longer to clear. Some dealers (like United BMW) will not accept them. 2) The minimum to borrow is $7500. No financing a $3k car. Check with your seller to see if they'll accept a draft check first. Most buy-here-pay-here places like them because they get all their money in a week.

You can usually find money for just about anything. It might not be from the traditional sources and you will pay a higher rate.

Thanks.

I looked at their site. The problem is the loan would only be $5k. I guess I could take some more money out.. I looked at their interest rates and @ 9.25% I would rather pay cash. Thats insainnn!

I drive the car on sunny days and the truck if there is a chance of rain.

Jonathon, if you live in Fulton Co. become a member of GA's own credit union http://www.gatelco.org/ they will finance a car over 100k and the rates are very competitive.

Thanks

I am already a member with the Pentagon and Lockheed credit unions. The rates look pretty good. Now to find the car!
Pentagon offers 4.99%

I sold my 99 M3 with 114K on it and the kid that bought it from me used State Farm (the insurance people). Got a pretty decent rate from what I recall.
4.99 is awesome! What term?

Credit Unions rock! I got turned down for a loan on an 85 911 until I asked to see the manager. I notice a few pics of sportscars on his desk and got it for $221/month at a great rate/term.
