Anyone ever have this happen to them? (pic)

While on my trip in baltimore, at night the Xenon's would only work for a while, then go out. I thought it was a problem w/ the ballast due to heat. I figured I had a spare at home, I'll change it when I get back.

Today I had the opportunity to change it becuase I was heading out to my monthly BMW CC meeting this evening. I needed the headlights to work. When I took it apart this is what I found. Luckily I also had a spare bulb.

yikes! that doesn't look to good at all.

Looks like a dirty connection, and the high power from the initial ignition was arcing. That certainly could cause that kind of melting.

From your sig, I see that those are the OE xenons... correct? If so, that is very surprising to see!
