18x10 ET40 on E36 rear?

I know this has been done before, heck, it worked on my car before the slammage of the Sportlines.

Does anyone know if I should be able to run a 18x10 ET40 with 255/35/18 tires on the rear of my E36? Bear in mind I am dropped on Eibach Sportline and Bilstein Sport.

I'll leave it to you to draw it out and do the math to check the offset.

A 255/40R17 (about the same dimension as the 255/35R18) on a 9" rim:
+45mm- > nearly rubs the inside edge
+40mm -> has about 1/4" space on my rolled fenders at +40m but will probably rub up high at full compression

Why are you using a 10" rim?
