View Full Version : A good tire to run with 450whp?

Hi all. I'm concerned as to which type of rubber I should run in the rear of my M3. I'll be mostly a street runner with the occasional drag strip trip. Rear ideally would be 255/35/18. Should I go for a drag radial? Are these okay to drive daily?

Or should I go with something like the BFG T/A KDW's? A friend has them with no complaints and the price is right.

Any other recommendations that will plant and take some abuse?

Thank you,

-Chris

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's

You have a lot of power, but theres only a certain point where a tire will keep you safe compared to learning to use your foot.

Good luck :)

seriously the best tire u can run on the street!!!

the grip is insane!

if you can roll the fender enough to fit some 275`s back there, it would be a really tight fit, but you would have a lot of traction...hell even 255 is a lot.

Run Yoko Neovas, RE01Rs or Direzza Sport Z1s when the come back in stock.

+1 yes, my vote's with the Neova or the Zed 1 Direzza Star Spec (replacement compound for current Zed 1 Direzza). With 450 rear wheel hp, you might even consider a "Tier 2" R-compound tire such as a Toyo R888, ADVAN A048, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Comp to help get that power to the ground!

Some Toyo Ra-1 at full tread depth will hold up on the street fairly well.
Maybe some Hoosier DOT Wets

Michelin Ps2's as well.. with that much HP you need a super stick tire!
