I mite have bent my axle im told by mates. Aint had a look under the car at the mo as it only happend tonite. But if i have, how much am i looking at to repair? or is it gonna be scrap the car? I think ive knackerd the outer cv joint so thats a whole new drive shaft, and ive broke the anti roll bar. so i know its gonna b costly but how costly?

Well, these cars don't really have "axles" in the classic sense. They do have half shafts, which some call driveaxles. You'll have to look at your suspension and see what else you've busted. Then go to a parts yard and get what you need.

What did you hit?

Hm...'knackering' the outer cv joint doesn't require replacing the drive shaft - at least not what I call it - it's the CV shaft (or half shaft or drive axle). You've probably bent a control arm or other linkage if your alignment is knocked outta whack, and like has been said, get it up in the air and look to see what doesn't match the other side.

Most of the repairs are pretty straightforward - and then take to a shop for an alignment. Unless you've done some *serious* damage, it's fixable (for less than the car's worth - *everything* is fixable - just depends on how much money you want to spend :))

ok well lets explain what happend.

To put i shortly i lost it on a bend, not even going fast but it was a wet smooth road and our roads over here have alot more bends for no reason. it spun round like 4times and finally hit a curb, went up the curb and up a small hill of grass. so its bent up sum of the boot panels. i found parts of the antiroll bar there, ive completly fcukd my alloy but no damage to bodywork.

When i now start it everything works no warnings or lack of brakes, but when i put it in drive it just grinds badly, i will get a video 2moro and post on utube. My mate says my propshaft is spinning so its at the driveshaft end and finks its a problem with the outer cv joint? kept going on about the differential n all that crap trying to explain whats wrong but i aint got a clue what he is going on about. I do electrics not the mechanical side as i always say.

Does this sound really bad?

You have most likely broke the outer cv joint, hence the noise/grinding when you take up the drive. U could have also bent one of the arms, If you are lucky it will be a upper or lower suspension arm, if unlucky it will be rear trailing arm. ;)

I seen the pic in your other posting. I looks like its just popped out of position. Best thing is to at least pull it to make sure none of the teeth have been beat up and tap it back in.
