There are also a few from private sellers with cert bmw warranties with less miles (none lower than 67,000) I figured if you guys said yes to this the ones with lower miles would be a given.

Notice this is also a 540i vs. the 528i I am also considering!

Ive heard of people doing this to avoid getting swirls. :dunno:

I know these cars are one of the most reliable, and I know that that's prob an understatement but I am a little hesitant to spend 23-25k on a car w/ 70k or so miles on it. Any Thoughts?

Also the 540 is a 98 vs a 2000 528

The 540 is a good car. still, it sounds a little off, almost too much information, like its being made up. I'm not sure, but I'm getting a strange vibe. I'd check it out, that's a nice price, and the car has at least 100 thousand miles left in her.

The V8 gets costly to keep up after 100k, which is something to think about for down the road.

The car has been waxed almost every other week (I only use Pinnacle for my cars) and has been hand washed and dried (using leaf blower) almost every 3-4 days (dark colors are hard to keep looking clean). The car was used as my daily driver (by occupation I'm a computer systems engineer)

Must be an unemployed engineer...Washes his car every 3 days? Who has that kind of time, specially software guys. Could be a car wash, but what car wash uses a leaf blower to dry off their cars?

Sounds to me, this description has a little too much honey...

car has been sold already. I can't find a 540 with less than 70k miles.

Let me know if you know where I can find some good deals.

Pricing for the autotrader 540i seems high to me. Here in the bay area, there is a glut of 540's on the market. For once, I think this area has lower prices on certain cars than other areas. My sister just sold her 97 540 with 92k miles - she was only able to get $17.5k for it (no extended warranty though).

In any case, check out yahoo's used car pages. When you are searching, enter zipcode 94025, radius 50 miles and you should see quite a few. Cross country shipping is relatively cheap - $600 - $1k.

I did notice Cali cars were cheaper. I considered a Cali car. Do you know if Cali emmisions has any eefect on the performance of the car vs a non-Cali car?
