Attached are the before and after shots to show the height change using Bilsteins and Eibach Pro Kits on my 98 M3. The car has had a month to settle. The front stayed at the same height. The rear dropped by 0.5 inch.

The ride is firmer and with the addition of the Eibach sways, the body roll is nonexistent. I'm very pleased with the handling improvement.

This is before:

wow, that doesn't even look lowered, my prokit SLAMMED my car. It willt ake 2-3 months to fully settle probably, but i guess i need to get some bilsteins.

AS a comparo, here is a pic of my car with the prokit. this is BEFORE settling, at least fully.

how much does your car sink with 2 passengers, i am getting about 1/2 inch up front and 1" rear of sink when a passenger gets in, or i get in. Right at about 180 lbs.

i amn starting to think i may have been shipped the wrong part. in the right box.

I think your looks about right. May be a bit lower, but not by much. It may be that your shock/struts are a bit worn.
You have to take it into account that JCM3 has Bilstein shocks. They are know to rise the hight by as much as .75in. So the combination of Bilstein and Pro kit will yeld stock hight.

hey guys,
just my observation but over the years of looking at BMW's esp M3's, 95 M3's tend to sit lower than 96+ because BMW changed the upper spring mounts. my friend had a 95 with HR race + bilstein sports and it had 0 gap up front. he then put same combo on his 97 M3 and was expectin no gap but actually has about a 1/2 inch or less gap. Maybe bilstein sports raised car a lil and maybe the springs havent really settled yet but one thing's for sure - 95's are definately lower than 96+ whether stock or not.

Hey rockstar are those factory wheels on your car or aftermarket? I thought the factory wheels had an M emblem, or didn't the mk1 have the emblem?

Thanks!

ahh the koni and prokit looks more like mine, i guess it is the bilsteins.

anyone know someone selling bilsteins.

to answer teh ?

it hasnt' changed much at all. My prob is, i live in downtown phx now, i just moved doen ehre, and they have some MEGA slanted pullins for like, the mall, apt complexes, and the speed bumps.. to qutoe a line from a movie you shoudl have all see.

Holy christ did you see the size of it?

they are HUGE.

i find that with the long wheelbase, i am ok, but when i add a passenger, the car seems to "sink" a lot

i don't know if shocks would have anything to do with it "sinking" when loaded or if that owuld be spring rate. I woudl assume the latter. Perhaps not. Anyone offer comments?

FWIW when i lived in north phoenix/pv, i had no clearance issues, and i didn't for the first 3-4 months, now it seems to have settled lower, and "sink" more with more weight in it.

can anyone settle this for me for onece and for all. I mean, do shocks, or do they not, affect how much your car drops when it is loaded?

cheers

Ride height is controlled by spring rate, spring length, and perch position. Shocks control speed of movement. So, if people jump into your car, the shocks will control how fast the car sinks, but the springs determine how much lower the car will end up.

thanks im, that is what i thought, my shocks are NOT blown, and i talked to eibach. They actually recomment the factory shocks. They say they will wear 20% faster maybe, but they supposedly designed the prokit for them. They also say do NOTcut the bumpstops , the factory bumpstop holds spring rate in it?

i dunno i think this guy was blowing it up my u know what.

I heard the bilstein sports are a REALLY hard ride on the m3
