Yes, I've searched.

I'm having trouble finding the temperature sensor on the 540 motor.
NOT the one of the temperature "switches", the temperature "sensor".

I need the switch that drops voltage according to the coolant temperature. Probably the same one the OBC / dash guage use.. but I can't find it.

Thanks for your help.

There are two. I think the one you are looking for is mounted on the thermostat housing. If not, it could be the one on the radiator. Someone else may know for sure.

Yes that is correct, two, one on the thermostat housing and one on the lower rad by where the expantion tank is.

The one on the rad is a 'dual temperature switch'. I'm not sure about the one at the thermostat housing.

I could figure it out with a multimeter, but that literally requires watching the car heat up while holding on to a wire.. and there are 5 wires between those two sensors.. so that could realistically take me several mornings.

Thanks.

I talked with my mechanic and he confirmed that I was doing it wrong..

Yes, the sensor on the radiator is a dual-switch.

The one I thought was the other sensor was the plug on the thermostat housing. This is actually an electric thermostat controlled by one of the temp-switches.

Apparently the sensor is on the water pump, angled towards the drivers side. Gott the direction I need now.
