545i Shifter for E39

I've done some searches and seen that a lot of people have said that this is a great mod as far as SSKs go, especially because its so cheap and is designed for a car so similar in the first place. How is the install, an easy DIY? Has anybody thought of doing a DIY for it?

Its apparently pretty easy to do if you can lift your car up on jacks. Here is a nice write-up by Understeer.com (a supplier of OEM budget shifters, btw)
