I wanted to know if the axle carrier is bent on a m3 coupe will it cause a rear wheel to tilt or appear to be more inside the rear fender than the other. The reason I ask this, I bought a m3 in the summer that was in an accident. The car appreared to be fixed and drove wheel and all. When I took the car for an inspection after it was bought, I noticed one of the rear wheels was sitting on a tilt. I changed the following parts:
Lower and upper control arms
The complete rear shocks, and springs
the trailing arm and bushings
The car drives fine, but the wheel sits slightly more inside than the other, but it did come out alot more than before. No one would know unless I told them. The only other suspension part that I didn't change was the axle carrier. My sister has a 325xi and her axle carrier was bent and the dealer told her that she could not get a perfect wheel alignment until she changed it. Once they changed it, the wheel alignment was perfect. Has any of you guys had any experiences with this? Or is there anything else that could be bent making the wheel look like that?
