My powersteering lines are leaking pretty bad at the reservoir. I am going to replace both lines. The lines are clearly the problem. Not sure if I should get a new reservoir when I order the lines. When I did my cooling system overhaul everything that was plastic broke. I was wondering if anybody who has replaced their powersteering lines broke their plastic reservoir when removing the lines. I did a search and found about line replacement but no info on reservoir replacement. I would rather not buy the p/s reservoir if I dont have to. Thanks for any input and advice.

before you spend money replacing the lines and the reservoir, just cut off about 1" of hose at the reservoir end and put new clamps, and you'll be all set.

The reservoir is only like $30 so you might as well repace it, at least for the sake of getting a new filter (which is integrated into the reservoir).

Be sure to replace reservoir. There is sort of filter inside which gets durty and prevenst normal flow of ATF from reservoir to the pump.

I think a resevoir from Pelican or cmuzyy (check classifieds group buys) or autohausaz or my current favorite, art at RMEuropean, is closer to $20 than $30. I did it all. Don't forget normal hose clamps to replace the oettinger ones that get broken when you remove them.
