I noticed two problems recently with my car, and was just curious the best approach to fix it. I have been noticing two unique problems.

Firstly, I would notice that it felt like the ebrake was on when it wasnt. For example, the car would actually slow itself down and on an slight (to moderate) incline or decline, it would not roll. Instead, it felt like when you park the car, pull the brake up, and it rolls back just that little bit and you can feel the brake grab.

Secondly, on very cold mornings, my clutch pedal was very heavy and sticky. My clutch was just replaced over the summer.

So I brought it to a friends shop for some basic maintenance, and had them check out both problems. For the first, he suspects that the ebrake might be misaligned, and thus grabbing the rear driver side wheel to an extent. Seems like it would make sense. Is this a common problem with these cars? Whats the normal approach to repair this? Is it a long procedure?

Second, he found that my slave is bad. I guess the master and slave seemed alright when we did the clutch, so they were not replaced. Now, I remember with my old car that once one went, if it was repaired/replaced the other would often go soon after. Is this the same with bmw's? Should I just replace both the master and slave cylinders at the same time?
