Going to invest in some BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW2's but I'm curious about sizes. I'll be putting them on either 18/8" or 17/8", either way it'll be 8" wide. I was thinking of 245/40's all around, but just wondering what other people might suggest. Thanks.

are you fenders rolled?
if it is then yea it is ok to run but if its not then go 245/35 not 40 because those BFs are thicker than other tires

The 245/35R18 would be the widest you can run. Depending on the offset and the camber you are running you may need to roll the fender lip.

245/40-17 would work as well.
I always thought 245s were a bit thick for an 8" rim. It might fit, but is it recommended?
Would the optimal size be 235/40s all around for an 8" ?

They fit anywhere from 8 to 9.5 width wheels.

235/40-17 fits very nicely on a 17x8" rim.

Fender's are rolled, I think I'm going with 245/40/17 and 245/35/18.

They will fit fine. Depending on the offset of the wheel though they could rub.

245/40/17: Just put these spec tires on my 17x8. OMG looks perfect. I don't know why I didn't go this way sooner! Stupid lame 235s...
