Ok. My upper timing chain tensioner is going out and I might as well replace the vanos system since I have 150k on my car. Im not sure If I should get Kit 1 or Kit 2 from Dr. Vanos.
Or
Should I upgrade my Clutch system too UUC stage 2? I am looking at the 8.5 LFW with the M5 Clutch setup.
Edit: I Forgot to add that My throwout bearing for my clutch is messed up or some bearing from my clutch. It has been making this weird noise for about 2 years now. It sounds like a Blowoff valve LOL really a lot of people think I have a turbo or something it makes a weird sound every time I shift into gears
What would you guys recommend?

defintly the dr vanos
i've got the lwfw with the m5 setup and its got a nice feel but the rattle is god awful. i might actually swap back :(
if you've got a vanos issue that definitely comes first. a sticky unit can lead to a whole bunch of bad shit. the stages are pretty close, and the stage 2 is MUCH harder to install (you need to lock the cams etc). the difference is literally 1 surface (about the size of a quarter) is redone in a slicker finish to cut down on friction between the unit and the tip of the cam. if you're doing this in your driveway i recommend the stage 1 hands down.

how bad is the rattle is there any sound files i could listen too? is the sound very noticeable inside the car or outside? Do people look over to your car when they hear that sound?

how bad can it be?
Once you get the car at TDC piston 1, lock the flywheel, and just put some sort of locking tool on the cams, it aint to far off. Much harder has been tackled in the driveway.

its not the difficulty but theres specialty parts necessary
stage 1 needs like... a socket wrench

if you decide to go with OE rather then rebuilt, send a pm to Gregg (that's his screen name), he has a brand new vanos unit that he's looking to get rid of.
