I have a 2005 BMW 545i with auto steptronic. The car jerks when I brake and I noticed this happening in automatic when the cars shifts down from 2nd to 1st gear. This is less noticeable when I shift from 2nd to 1st using steptronic.

Is this a problem that can be fixed? Has anyone else experienced this?

possibly a software issue? Isn't your car still covered under the factory warrantee?

take it back. Obviously something is. Shove it down their throat until they do something about it.

An automatic car should not be jerking in any way. Sounds like you need to go to another dealer and get this sorted out. Don't just let them scan for codes and figure everything is OK just on that. The dealer near me dropped my tranny when I felt a vibration in the clutch, so there are dealers out there that are willing to help, you just have to find them, and find out who to talk to at each dealer.
