I don't know I search realoem.com for the numbers on it and it didn't come up with anything. Maybe optional side airbags?

Edit: Sorry side airbags were standard on 99+ Z3s.

Why yes, that's the zeiheitgefuhrenundnichtferstehenabergepumpenuppero ffen module. It handles your mirror controls.
