Speedo stopped working for 5 minutes...

Last week while driving around the city I noticed my speedo was stuck at 0. Afterwards I jumped on the freeway onramp and banged a few gears, around 80mph it started working again, been fine every since.

Is this a sign of a problem in the future?

I have this happen from time to time too. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Check the sensor in the diff.

I would pull the sensor in the rear diff, and check for excessive metal deposit. It’s common to have a little in there just not huge amounts, clean it of with a rage or brake clean and stick it back in you should be fine...

This is also a good time to change you diff oil since you’re up there, also very simple procedure.
