so i figured out that i have a coolant leak and i think its getting worse by the day. its sunday, bmw parts is not open, and i was hoping if you guys could help me out here. so i figured out where its leaking from, when i opened the hood steam was coming from this direction then i took a flash light and noticed drops of coolant sipping down. so its right next to the coolant res. and i was told it could be something to do with the climate control. anyways... i have a photo to help describe where it is. has anyone had the same problem? do i have to replace the whole unit or is there a kit to fix this leak? does it sound expensive to repair?

thanks a lot

lol, atleast you found your leak fast. took me a while to find mine, until i removed the shroud and found a nice hole.

Pop that black cover off and take a look underneath.
Underneath is the heater valve and aux water pump, plus a bunch of hoses routing to the heater core and engine. Guaranteed it's probably one of those that is leaking.

If it's under the coolant reservoir, it could also be the reservoir that is leaking as it is plastic. Honestly, I've never heard of one leaking before, though.

thanks for the reply guys. i did find the leak. it is not the res, or the hose coming from it. its from that unit. i saw it with a flash light leaking from the bottom of it.
