Hi.

I have a Dakaryellow M3 - 93 with color code #267.

#267 is 267 Dakar Gelb II Dakar Yellow Standard Yellow 51 91 1 052 199

Im confused? How can 93-96 have Dakargelb 2? I thought the numer "1" came before 2 :)

IIRC

1 = No clear coat

2 = Clear

Aha, I see.

So the colors came at the same time (in 92-93) except that you could choose if you wanted 1 or 2.

I always thought that the color/code was related to what year your car was made, for instance:

93-95 = Dakar 1
96-99 = Dakar 2

Thanks alot for clearing this out for me, thanks man!

Well that can't be true mate. I have a 93 Dakar 2, so has my brother.

Could be that you guys in the U.S never got pre-96's cars and have never seen a 93 M3 that is Dakar2, like mine.

We started getting M3s produced in early 94.

No, it's probably becuase NONE of us here in america know anything about the M3 GT, and that our LTW is just the little brother and a total POS... right?

Well we did get 95 m3's here, except that possibly we weren't offered the option of dakar II during pre-96, which seems a bit weird but if you have a pre 96 dakar II then BMW must've offered it.
