I read through about 5 pages of the wheel and tire fitment thread and couldn't really find much.

I have an 04 3 series touring and am looking for some new wheels for it. I would like to keep them OEM, so I am wondering what styles are avaiable that will fit the car. I know other e46 wheels will fit, but what about e39, e36, e46, etc?

Thanks!

Anyone wanna give me some help. What are some non-e46 BMW wheels that you can run on an e46?

Put your car model into http://tirerack.com and check out their sizes. They list the offset if needed.

When did tirerack start carrying OEM BMW wheels?

Re-reading your original post, I don't know why I said what I did. I must've thought you asked something else.

All 5 lug BMW rims are 5x120. They also all have a 72.5mm center bore EXCEPT for E39 rims 74.0mm. So in essence you can still use E39 rims on an E46 with the appropriate hubcentric rings.

In reality, with the right tire size, you can run just about any OEM wheel on any 5 lug car with the right tire size. For instance, 5ers and 7ers generally run offsets in the ~20mm range, and E36 and E46 generally in the ~30-40mm range. But with a stretched tire you can fit them just fine on E36's. It really depends on which rim you are looking for specifically.

Exactly what I was looking for TJ. Thanks!

Where is a good place to source offsets for OEM wheels?

For E46, try to stay between 35mm and 50mm offset.

You can't though run a 3 Series wheel on a 5 Series car. The load capacity is not close. Some of the wider 5 Series wheels will stick out of the wheel well on a 3 Series as well.
