Some guy in the e34 section had his car broken into and people were talking about how the tint prevents any shatter noise so it doesn't trigger the alarm. Plus it falls into a convenient blob instead of leaving shards of sharp glass everywhere.

Interestingly enough, I had my car tinted a few weeks prior to this.
Though other cars w/o tint have been broken into in the same parking garage.
I am probably going to get my window re-tinted and just take my faceplate with me wherever I go.

yeah, mine had 35% and you can easily see through it.

i have a big blinking LED light when my doors are locked... thats all you can see through my tint at night time... seems pretty safe to me

5% in the rears, 15% in the fronts. After a few "close calls" when having to look out the back I'm gonna change it to 15% all around. Just gotta wait till it gets warmer out.

The fist day i got my car I paid to have a perfect tint job ripped out.It's ugly I think.Sometimes its ok if its super light tint.But most of the time it looks dumb like your trying to hide from someone.In states where you cannot tint front windows it looks terrible because its uneven,all of the windows have varying tint.No tint looks cleaner in my opinion.Plus people can see how good you look driving your car.

The consequences of the wrong person seeing inside mine daily is probably far worse than yours though.

I will say that black can look good fishbowling, as long as you're not hotboxing inside.

Clear windows look anything but cheap.

Tint cheapens the car. The darker you go the worse it gets.

The only positive thing about tint is that it helps keep the car cooler in hot temps, which you can do with a clear tint.

I read it on here that 3M sells a film called Crystalline or something like that. It's apparently expensive and special order.

You can't say tint is function over form. :rolleyes Tint sucks to look out of most hours of the day. Try backing up at night. It's depressing too, sitting in a dark cave. Girls can't see how good-looking you are. You can't use hand signals to wave someone through an intersection or crosswalk. Tint is all but illegal in some states. Tint gets easily scratched by a seat belt. Tint can bubble.

Every car until the E34 I have had tinted. No more, I have grown up at the ripe old age of 22.
