fuel pump ?

I have just had the auto serviced and the mechanic tells me that a noisy fuel pump indicates a imminent failure.
The car is a e34 520 1992.
What thoughts do you guys have on the noisy fuel pump.

Thanks.They can get noisy on the way out. If it is indeed the fuel pump, it WILL go out in the middle of traffic when you need to be somewhere. :mad

Better to have it replaced before you get stranded. Don't ask me how I know! :D

Yea noisy pump = not good.

Thats why my fuel pump is external :) If it decides to die I'll swap one on the highway haha.
