I believe BimmerHaus will do it for free, give them a buzz, www.bimmehaus.com. Otherwise, if you ran at the CCC then you must have had your free inspection done there, no?

My bimmer that I am going to drive to driving school was in shop when I went to CCC. :( I came there driving another car.
Also, is it necessary to flush the brake fluid for mine has about 11 K miles?

No need for a full flush but a brake bleed yes, would be nice.
Basically, brake fluid gets hot and if it's dirty it will not hold high temps very well and diminish tremendously you brakes performance. So what you want to do is bleed the fluid that is neaer the calipers till it's clear. You can ask BimmerHaus to do that for you as you get your car inspected. That doesn't take long at all and they shouldn't charge you much for that.

Capitol Hill. I called Bimmerhaus and they charged $48 for tech inspection. Is it about right?

Were you the guy at the Car Control Clinic in the rental Toyota while your BMW was at the body shop? What a drag, hope your own ride is fit and healthy again by now!

Any qualified mechanic can perform the tech inspection for you. Just take the checklist sheet with you, downloaded from the chapter website (http://www.rmcbmwcca.org) (go to the driving school registration, go to step 4 for document downloads).

The dealers can do it, or any independent BMW shop can do it too. Wherever you take your car for maintenance can do it. You can expect that any MotorSport Report (http://www.rmcbmwcca.org/newsletter.htm) advertisers will have done it before. This close to the driving school they don't have much free time left in their schedule (fixing everybody's problems), so they're less likely to be able to offer free or cheap inspection services.

If you haven't gotten the inspection done already, you're sorta pushing up against the timeline. If they find something that needs attention, you might have problems getting the work scheduled in time. Especially if parts are required.

Regarding brake fluid, have the mechanic do it while he/she's performing the inspection. Brake fluid doesn't care about mileage, it absorbs atmospheric moisture over time regardless whether you're driving or not. Fluid that's a year old should be replaced with a complete flush before you go on the track. Fluid that's six months old should be bled so at least you've got fresh fluid in the calipers and at the ends of the lines. If you track the car often you'll want to bleed more frequently because the high temperatures accelerate the fluid aging. I flush mine in the winter and again at mid-season, then bleed before each weekend of fun. I have my own pressure bleeder (http://www.motiveproducts.com) so it's quick and easy while I'm changing brake pads the night before the event.

Oh man, maybe it's $48 including brake bleed? I thought they offered free inspection. That's kind of a bummer. Oh well, there's no price for safety I guess!

Yes, that's me. Sucks, went to CCC with matic Solara. I've been downgraded and it makes me appreciate BMW more and more. D
She's perfect now and ready for tech inspection this afternoon :)

Yeah we (bodyshop and I) had problems with the insurance of the guy who hit me. They took long time to respond and sent appraiser, delayed the body work and made her missed the CCC.

My ride passed the inspection :D I had it inspected at Bimmer of Denver and also had the brake fluid flushed. All is about $80. Better save than sorry :)

Now if I can get help from any of you to adjust my rear KW coilover, it would be perfect for I want to lower and stiffen it a bit. ;)

I had it inspected at Bimmer of Denver

Where's that? Never heard of 'em, can't find it in qwestdex.com, altavista.com, or google.com. If they're good, we're always looking for new newsletter advertisers :12:

Currently they are still named Volvo Specialist (do both Volvo and BMW), but shortly, Bimmer of Denver will be on its own. Mike does good job, I had my coilover and sway bar installed by him. Ronnie also had the some aftermarket stuffs installed there.

They're located at 36 S. Santa Fe, Denver. 303-722-8658.
