Hey,
I have a set of 18 inch ACS powder coated black. There are some curbage issues from the previous owner(or owners)I was wondering if it is possible to sand them down and try a dark gunmetal duplicolor? After I fill them with bondo,of course.I hear that paint does not stick well to powder coat surfaces.Does anyone have experience with this?I would appreciate the help.http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m181/mrdeezy/P1000098.jpg

Yes, but the paint may not match. The pcoat may stay glossier than paint, after a while.

Thanks for the reply,I don't want to match,I want to paint the wheels a gunmetal. So are you saying it would turn out inconsistent color wise?Possible orange peel?Do you recommend doing this? Its mainly to fix the curb damage
Thanks again

Eastwoods, has a powder coating stripper if you want to go that avenue. Don't try to media blast those wheels. Much to difficult. Paint will adhere to the PC but be sure that the PC is prepared to accept the paint.
Hope this helps.

itll be fine. after u grind down the curb rash finish it up with like 400 grit and degrease with simple green using a gray scotch brite pad make sure to scuff it up good other wise the paint will chip and flake off.

If you are just touching up the wheel, paint will be perfectly fine.

Just be prepared to go back and possibly touch it up, if it is around the rim of the wheels, if you ever get your wheels mounted/dismounted.
