Im a noob, so if this has been covered please redirect me. I want to fit 225 tires, RE-01Rs or Anzis but cant deside, if i wan't to go 15 or 16" wheels. I autocross and have a stock suspension. any advice would be great.

Both are only available in a 225/16, not a 225/15.

I know the tires i mentioned don't both work in either size but my question is what works better. should i go for lighter waight with the 15's or less tire roll and higher gearing with the 16's?

Wrong you can get 225/50/15 toyo ra1 for your car. That is what I run.

I wasn't wrong, he didn't mention that tire.

Ra-1's are a nice tire but i am trying to stay in SCCA STS class which only allows 140 or higher tread ware.

Tell me more. I only have some swaybar and bushing mods know. I just want to avoid fitment issues but still run the 225 tires. I think i could use a higher gear ratio from my last season of events, first gear is useless, hard to control wheel spin and redlining second gear alot, but i thought unsprung waight was key to a good suspension. I don't have the shocks and struts yet but i don't want to buy wheels and tires that won't fit when i go and lower the car later. So this is my issue, go with 16's and RE-01R's or falkans or drop to 15's. with the 15's my tire chooses will give me smaller diameter tires, with the 16's i would have a one inch increase in diameter, taller gear ratios but more waight. One thing i still need to figure is the waight of my origional 14's with the 195/65 tires. if they are heavier than the 16's than i would go with the 16's but i dought this.
