Hello All

1991 BMW 525i

Pulled up to stop sign....and it just died.

gave an error....oil pressure sensor fail.

now I have no spark.
and I have no fuel.
and will not start.

any ideas?

yeah thats what it said on the read out on the dashboard computer display. It only flashed it right after it died and now it wont start.

It was full of oil. If that sensor fails....would it tell the computer to not let the motor run? Is it maybe some sort of safety mechanism to save the engine?

Don't know but you could do a stomp test to find out more

Check your engine block ground cable at the front right engine mount just for giggles. Make sure it is tight and making good contact.

Just because it flashes an error message, doesn't necessarily mean that is what is going on. When system voltages get low, all kinds of funky error messages will flash.

Sometimes it will tell you to "lic plate light"
