I think the 135i will be a fun little car, but at the same time, there is a very big price difference. What kind of E30 would you be looking for? M3? M5x/S5x swap? 318?

Buy the 135. New E30's are becoming very hard to find these days :D

well i think 35k for 135i is a steal with what it is offering (probably run up to 39k with a lil bit of options). And for e30 m3 would be nice or at least a 325is( for both to be in very good condition are hard to come by for a good price). I really want both but garage can only fit one more and a new car would be less prone to major bills i hope.

HAHA no no if i was to drop 35k on a 135i might as well buy 2 :).
OR make my self a super duper e34 m5 and convert my front lawn into a garage!

I priced up a 135i on the bmw website. Standard performance stuff like the M-sport, no i-drive, or premium package. It was $42k. I thought it was supposed to be a performance bargain.
I could build one hell of an E30 for half that.

really? It's only a couple hundred pounds less than the 335i, and the 335i is much more livable sized.
My touring DWARFED the 135 when I pulled up to one at a light in September. it reminded me of a Mazda to be honest.
I laid 30+ feet of rubber with out even trying in the 335i when I did the ultimate drive.
The ultimate sportscar BMW should really build??? Z4 coupe with the 335i engine (n54?).

I've got a friend that just sold his e30 m3. He got somewhere in the low to mid 20s for it, and it was immaculate. Rare color combo, 46k on it. Only thing not original was the driver's side fender, repaired by BMW. Minor bump with no structural damage, if he wasn't honest in selling it you'd never have known. Car was seriously sweet, and that's pretty much the tippy top end of the e30 range. If you want to spend more money on one I'm sure there's rarer cars with less mileage, but you'll be waiting a long time for one.

E30 with an N54? Surely 35-42k could get you that (maybe in a few more months when people start letting their kids drive them), plus a few more goodies...

well i tired the options just need sport package navi ipod thingy and bmw assist for the bluetooth quiet useful imo tried it out on 335i so it about 39k. The guy that sold my e34 at Peter Pan BMW is very nice and threw in lots of freebees and some discounts im sure he can hook it up after the 1er is out a lil.
But if i was to buy a e30 would not really like to spend more than 10k for it.

10k still gets you a lot of E30
