Amperage rating

So my alternator went out yesterday (luckily my car didn't completely shit it's self and trans program until I was ten houses away from my own) and I've gotten the old one pulled. I looked on realoem and could not match the item number on my alternator with any listed for my car. I have two options for rebuilt Bosch's: a 90amp and a 140amp. Would anyone know which one I should (or could go with?) I would prefer the 90amp simply because it is $90 cheaper then the 140amp. Any help on this matter or help with identifiying my alternator would be a great help!

have you considerd just replacing the regulator(comes with brushes IIRC) for $30? Common problem, and worth a shot to avoid paying for a new one.
