03 M5 Engine and Trans in an e34?

How hard would that swap be? Could it be done with engine/computer and harnes?? Or is it much more involved than that?

obdII engine into an obdI car is complicated... I'm sure there are plenty of ways it could be done just very costly.

go to m5board.com, on the e34 page and do a search. There are at least two guys who have done this.

just joined that site to search that... pretty funny. Lots of m5 owners that really hate the 540 huh? There's a whole thread dedicated to out-accelerating 540's... the s38 is just a classier engine, wait till those 540 owners hit the twisties, etc... geez. We're all e34 brethren here.

With enough money, anything is possible. There's a 2007 M5 V10 for sale for 12k - totaled. The whole car - complete. Talk about a kick ass swap....

I personally wouldn't want anything to do with an S62 in an E34, or in an E39, or in anything else for the matter. There are much better engines out there for the money, even in keeping with the marque.
