Is the SES light supposed to flash when you hit a certain speed? It stopped flashing when I reduced speed under 120. I've done 125 before without this happening but not 140+. I was playing w/a green 740i on the way home from the meet.

flashin CEL is a sign of misfire. Were you WOT @ all times and when reached 140mph it started flashing? Or did u open it up @ around 140?

The best thing to do is prolly to stay under 140 so you don't kill anyone on the road

^^That doesn't help him.

Scan the car and see what it says, the SES code should be stored.

I thought the speed limiter kicked in someplace around 130 or 140. It could be you were bouncing off the limiter.
