Has anyone done a conversion from manual seats to power seats? Is it doable? If so what parts are needed? Anyone with power seats wanna do a swap for the lighter manual seats on a M3 sedan?

What's the weight difference b/t power seats and the manual seats? I thought the vaders (manual seats in the coupes) are heavy.

Bringin it back!

Can anyone tell me if this is possible or not? Anyone done it...how was the experience? I mean I would think that it would be possible, but am not certain. I was just hoping to possibly pull some expert advice out of this fine group of guys we have around. ;) Id appreciate it. Thanks!

:lol This thread is from 2001 so I doubt dude is still looking.

I was just trying to find out if some can take a manual seat and make it power? Say if someone had both seats, could they just take all the power stuff out of those seats and put them into the manual ones? Again, I appreciate any help here. Thanks.

Does anyone know if the e46 seats fit in our e36 cars?

Many years ago I retrofitted power seats into my non-powered 325is. If the power seat wiring is not already there, you need to run your own wiring. There are no relays so it's just a matter of running power and ground wires.

Why start a new thread when there's already one out there. Thats the point of the SEARCH function....but thanks for pointing out something I didnt already know. :shifty

So did you just totally swap out the non-powered seats and put in the powered seats? Im wondering if you can take manual vadars and put all the components of a powered vadar INTO the manual vadars? Thanks.

Thanks.I swapped out manual seats for power seats but I'm sure you can retrofit the powered bases on to your existing seats. Why not just buy power seats and and sell your manual? Much less hassle.

Id have to agree. Im just trying to help a fellow member out who was interested in buying my seats....he'd be the one doing the conversion. Told him Id do a little research and get back to him. Apparently someone/thing slashed his seats, so he has all of the power components....just not the seats. So it probably wouldnt be too much of a hassle for him since he'd have it all right there. But thanks for the help....much appreciated!

I just found this thread as i'm interested in doing the opposite. I might pick up a set of powered vaders that I want to convert to manual. I wanted to know basically, if the manual rails from non-vader seats can be swapped in to the powered vaders?
