Oh boy!!! My car has started to run like Crap when cold. Joy to the world

So its been really cold these last few days and my lovley car has decieded to start to run like ass when cold. it idles all rough and sputters

So i am guessing from some searches i did that it my intake gaskets

Any one have DIY right up on this one??

i dont really want to pay the dealer 603 bucks to do it. please let me know

Dude...I know you don't wanna hear this but it sounds suspiciously like the VANOS even though you have the V8 (it is possible for the VANOS to fail in the V8, just not as common). Have you already disconnected the VANOS solenoid to see if the problem goes away? Checked for vacuum leaks?

Sorry man...though it was a '99 and you are correct, the V8 received the ill-fated VANOS post '99. WHEW!! :stickoutt

Are you getting a cel light... I have the same problem(not as bad as you) ... I get a light... It was after i cleaned my maf...:( still runs stronger!... It helped when I checked the connection and clamped the small hose under the intake pass the maf (b4 the dsc)... my next step is looking for another vacum leak

anyways i need new headlights

are p39's the best way to go?? as far as the brightest angel eyes and beam pattern?

My x3's are dead

Those dam plastic adjusters are bull shit they strip out so dam fast its not funny

they dont adjust worth a dam and there just crap

Here ya go Joker...you can save your money and just replace the adjusters with new parts. This DIY link shows you what to do and e39dream (Mark) has access to aluminum adjusters that won't strip out like the cheap plastic.
