I recently purchased a used 2002 330ci and I want to treat the top with canvas protectant. From my research on this site, it appears that the top two products for this are Raggtopp and 303. However, I'm still not quite sure which is the best. Does anyone have any opinions on the matter?

Also, is it possible to apply the protectant to the convertible top by wiping it on vs spraying it on? It seems like it would much easier to do it this way.

Thanks,

I also have 2002 330 vert, I have been using Raggtop for over and year and have not noticed any aging on the top at all. I use it every few months. As far as wiping it on, I have no clue. Spraying is a piece of cake, I just use some cardboard to catch the overspray.

I have used both and prefer 303.

I used Raggtopp on my M3 convertible (both the cleaner and protectant) because they seemed most popular over on Autopia at the time. No complaints.

As far as wiping it on with a cloth -- I don't think that would work well; it seems like you'll have a difficult time getting it into the pores and texture of the material. Overspray happens but its easily taken care of with some quick detailer.

An atomizing spray enables the product to permeate the cloth efficiently, whereas wiping will not

The RAGG TOPP and 303 are the best convertible top cleaners and protectants on the market.
