I didn't even have plans to buy another car but I found a 1997 E36 M3 and picked it up today. These boards look pretty well kept and informative and I just wanted to introduce myself to the community.
I've never owned a BMW (I WAS a mitsubishi guy) so I'm sure I'll be asking alot of questions sooner or later. I'll try not to make any newb mistakes in using the forums (I was a member of one with the last car)

Did you trade in your old car for the M3 or do you have two cars now?
Welcome to the club! :D

I would have paid for it in full but I had to make the deal so quick that there was no way I would have been able to sell off my other car in time. So I financed it over 4 years and I'll refinance it with the bank after I sell the other car.

Yeah the Dobbs Nissan on winchester had it. It was the sales manager's car before it ended up on the lot. He HAD to have known all the extras that he had on it but I guess the dealership realized you don't get your money back on that kind of stuff.
As for autocross, I'm down for that sort of thing later on but Feb. 3 is to soon. I just got the car and I'm not use to the clutch and POWER yet. But its nice to know there are other people from memphis on these boards, thanks for the invite.

That's a nice Estoril. Maybe $17,000. You don't have to confirm, but I am curious. I paid $7500 for my 96 M3 - TechnoViolet 5spd Coupe with 167,000.

Ah ok.
Well there is no better (and safer) place to get used to the power/handling than at the track. Nothing to hit except for some cones. You should stop by as there will be a number of Mtrees there.
We also have a weekly 'euro' meet (consists of drinking beers/eating)...see the same website for details under the 'euro forum'.

Sweet. Are do you have 8.5" rear rims all the way around? The dish looks huge on the front for some reason.

I try to DIY a lot of stuff, but the more labor intensive stuff I pawn off on local shops. Jeremi Spake (277-6409) and Travis Cheney (Pro Auto on Pleasant View) are the two guys I trust to throw wrenches at the car.

haha you noticed that huh? Before I drove it off the lot when I bought it I made them put the front wheels on the back. They are staggared and they had it backwards.

thanks for the welcome. Those are the only pics i have taken of the car so far. I will get better ones when I have time. The shadows really do hid the color. Its Boston Green tho.
