I see a lot of people buy the Kosei K1's for track use. Is there any reason why people don't use these for daily driving? I think they are some fairly nice looking, light, inexpensive wheels. Any comments?

I am running Bilstein Sport+H&R Sport... what width wheel can I use without having to roll my fenders? Would I run into issues with 17" 8.5" K1s?

Thanks a lot!

I ran the Kosei's on the street all season last summer - No reason you can't, but you have to be careful of potholes. The Kosei's are bendable, and easier than a forged or otherwise more robust wheel. I didn't have any troubles.

I had 245/40-17s all around and they fit with no problems in the back. I ran a 15mm spacer up front - They *barely* cleared without it, but I don't know if they would have cleared a stock style strut. I would run a 5mm spacer up front just to be safe.

I ran Kosei's for a year or so on my E30 M3 and had no problems at all with them. I say go for it.

There is no reason not to run them on the street, save for the fact that most people don't find them very attractive.

I have probably 20,000 street miles on my Kosei in 3 season use in NH. I run snows on Contours in winter (that mileage not included in the 20,000).

I think a set powdercoated white would look good with my blue 328. I'd run them.

Nice! What width are those wheels? Your car looks low.. what is your suspension setup?

I wonder how silver k1s look on alpine...

I just threw my Kosei's on my car. Daily driven, you just gotta be careful.

No worries.

I've heard some horror stories with powdercoating though. I'd suggest painting instead of powdercoating as the heating-cooling process can make them brittle. I love em

I got em on my DD, just don't run thru any potholes (just like any other wheel, but these will bend a little easier).

I wasn't (and still am not) a fan of the capless look. I'd have preferred something other than the BMW caps, but those were all I had laying around.

Niiiice! Thanks! They look sick on alpine. I was actually concerned about both the caps and looking at my *wince* stock brakes. The spokes are so thin I know I'm going to be itchin for some brembos in no time.

Anyway, the poll is 7-1 in favor of k1 DDs... so I'm close to pulling the trigger. Where do you get the roundels for caps? size? What about other caps? kosei make them??

It's a discontinued wheel so kinda sucks if you have buy another one due to pot holes or whatever. If anyone's familiar with the Atlanta's way of repairing things...put a 1.5" thick steel plate in the middle of the road and laugh at people that run into it :stickoutt

They are discontinued? I still see them being sold... and seem somewhat common? What would you consider to be a comparable weight/price/quality wheel? PA roads are the worst! So this definitely is a concern...
